Once Upon a Time Will End After Season 7
Once Upon a Time will finally have its bittersweet happy ending.
When I opened up my Instagram today, I was surprised with Jen Morisson (Emma Swan), Lana Parrilla (Evil Queen Regina), Emilie de Ravin (Belle), and Colin O'Donoghue's (Captain Hook) updates - they were all seem saying goodbye to one of my favorite TV series, Once Upon a Time. After seeing a comment about the show being canceled, I quickly did a google search and found the news. It's true - Once Upon a Time Season 7 will be the last season of the series.
The Reason
Season 7 is a total reboot of the series, losing almost 90% of the original characters who we all learned to love from the previous 6 seasons. With that, a large percentage of the show's ratings dropped as well. If you love reading comments from real people, more than 50% hates this new storyline featuring adult Henry Mills in a new world named Hyperion Heights. This is a huge adjustment since we're all used to seeing Emma Swan and the whole Charming family causing and solving problems in Storybrooke.
OUAT's creators, Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, may act like they weren't surprised with the sudden cancellation at all. But after bringing a whole lot of new characters to the show, how can they pull off a good "Happy Ending" to the series when we're just getting to know them and there are only 12 episodes left? Can they also bring back Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White) and Josh Dallas (Prince Charming) anytime soon to give closure to their characters like what Jen and Emilie did during the first few episodes? Or maybe bring back some of the old and main characters for the finale?
Once Upon a Time, the countdown to the last few episodes of the series, will return Friday, March 2 at 8/7c.
