The Avengers Endgame Deaths May Not Be Permanent (Spoiler Alert!)

Avengers Endgame Deaths

It's been three days since I watched The Avengers: Endgame and I still haven't moved on yet. I'm still mourning the deaths of my most favorite Avengers. However, if the movie ended in a different way, it won't be as epic as it is now. Kudos to the big brains who came up with the whole storyline. As if they were already building this up since the beginning which was Iron Man 1 (2008).

If you haven't watched the movie yet, please stop reading now.

If you're a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and any other superhero comics and movies), you would know that deaths aren't always permanent... especially for superheroes. Here are my takes for the heartbreaking deaths that happened in The Avengers Infinity War and The Avengers: Endgame.

1. Loki

Loki Avenger Endgame

Did you hear about the rumors that Loki will have his own movie soon? How would that happen if he was already killed by Thanos at the first few minutes of Infinity War?

The fan theories may be true - Loki's death was fake. He's one of the smartest villains I watched. He could have used a better weapon than a dagger to kill Thanos.

In previous Thor movies especially Ragnarok, they showed us that Loki could appear in different places at the same time due to his cloning power. He's a master of mischief and trickery, right? And if he really died, wouldn't he turn into his real appearance - a Frost Giant?

My guts are telling me that he’s hiding in the New Asgard headed by Valkyrie. He could be disguised as an old man drinking in a tavern. Maybe I’m wrong... or am I?

And last but not least - Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has a big fan base. I'm sure that Kevin Feige wouldn't just throw the character away just like that.

2. Gamora

Gamora Avengers Endgame

Gamora's appearance in Endgame as a younger version of the character (the beauty of time travel) was promising. The fact that they didn't show if she also turned into ashes when Tony snapped his fingers left an open door for the character to return to the next sequel of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

3. Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow)

Black Widow Natasha Romanoff Avengers Endgame

Just like Loki, Black Widow will have her own movie soon. Maybe the reason why there are no confirmations yet is because of Endgame.

It would be stupid if they will set the movie in an alternate universe or in a different timeline (before Infinity War happened). So how would they pull it off?

Remember when Bruce Banner in Endgame talked about time travel? He says it won't affect the present if you changed anything in the past. "The past becomes your present, and the present will become your past..". I'm not sure about the exact line but this made a huge impact on me when Nebula killed her younger version.

Just like the infinity stones, what if they pulled Natasha from a specific timeline before she jumped off the cliff for Hawkeye to obtain the soul stone? After all, I'm sure that the time travel machine Stark invented would again make an appearance in the next Marvel movies. And that would also apply to...

4. Tony Stark (Iron Man)

Tony Stark Ironman Avengers Endgame

Of all the Avengers, he's my favorite. This is why I'm still heartbroken that he sacrificed himself to put an end to Thanos and his minions at the end of Endgame.

Without Stark, who else would be the big brain? Admit it - without Tony, everything would be different. There are multiple instances that proved that Tony or the Stark Industries funds the Avengers.

Just like Natasha - they could easily pull off Tony from a specific timeline before the snap and give him a happily-ever-after with his daughter and Pepper.

Or maybe - he’s not really 100% “dead”. I’ll be creating a new post about this shortly.

5. Steve Rogers (Captain America)

Steve Rogers Captain America Avengers Endgame

I know, he didn't die. At the end of Endgame, he was tasked to return the Infinity Stones in the past. When it was time for him to return, he stayed instead and had his happily-ever-after with Peggy Carter. He paid a visit to the exact place and time when he time traveled and passed his shield to Sam.

Maybe in the future Marvel movies where there would be a threat worse than Thanos, they could pull off Steve from a timeline to ask for his help. But I'm sure that this would only be a one-time thing since Chris Evans' contract with MCU is done.

But this got me thinking - since "our" Steve Rogers came back to 1940s and lived a full life since he was able to visit his friends as a grandpa in 2019, there could be another young (and previously frozen) Steve Rogers in the same timeline who was discovered by scientists in 2012. Right?

For all MCU Fans, these are just my theories. A part of me wants these to happen, and the other part wants to move on. I'm writing this out of a broken heart. But see, it's still possible. However, this may not happen anytime sooner. 3 or 5 years, maybe? Hope Robert Downey Jr would strictly follow his skincare routine. A future appearance from him as Iron Man will be one of the greatest things that could happen to me in my life as a fan.

Yes, The Avengers Sequel is done. How hard is it to make these happen to some of the future Marvel movies? Maybe in Captain Marvel 4? Or Doctor Strange 5?

Where is the Lazarus Pit when you need it the most? Oh right, that belongs to a different universe.
