I finally found the best soft and chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe! I made a few changes from the original cookie recipe I found online, so it won't turn out super sweet since my husband isn't a sweet tooth.
Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Ingredients (12 large cookies)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Himalayan salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted and melted butter
- 1 medium egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 8 oz dark chocolate chunks
- 4 oz almond nuts
Preparation
- Whisk together the powdered sugar, brown sugar, salt, and butter in a large bowl until no lumps are left.
- Whisk in the egg and vanilla.
- Sift the flour and baking soda and fold the mixture with a spatula. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chunks and almond nuts.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes if you want to bake it immediately. For deeper color and more flavor, chill overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 338°F or 170°C. Scoop the dough with an ice cream scoop onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Leave at least 10 cm of space between cookies.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Take it out before the edges start to get brown.
- Cool completely before serving.
