Communication Then and Now: Thoughts as a 90's Kid

Communication in the 90s

No matter how devoted you are as a fan of the 90's era, you can't deny the fact that social media has become a great help in reconnecting us to everyone, keeping us updated every day with what's happening to our loved ones, and most importantly, making the communication easier than ever.

Here are some throwbacks to the way we communicated as a 90's kid.

Spiderman Far From Home: Good but Quite Disappointing (Spoilers Alert!)

Spiderman Far From Home Spoilers

I just watched Spiderman Far From Home at the big screen, and my emotions are currently mixed-up. It was a good watch, but as the last movie for Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 3, I was kind of disappointed.

Many had stated that Spiderman Far From Home will serve as an epilogue, giving answers to many unsolved mysteries that Avengers Endgame had left behind. Personally, it didn't resolve anything. However, it had a lot of tributes for Tony Stark which is quite reasonable since Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker revolved around Ironman.

SPOILERS ALERT.... if you haven't watched the movie yet, stop reading now.

I saw a grieving and a more matured Peter Parker in this movie. Kind of a b*tch at first, but eventually you’d understand why he was refusing to answer Nick Fury’s calls. Seeing the person who changed your life and became a father-figure to you die is definitely traumatic.

A new A.I. created by Tony (built with the "smart eyeglass" given to Peter) is introduced in the movie- EDITH (Even Dead I'm the Hero).

There are also lots of raging hormones in this movie. 80% of the movie revolved around Peter's plans to confess to MJ during their European trip. Happy Hogan's flirting with Aunt May. Ned even had a short-term girlfriend.

Mysterio was introduced initially as a new potential replacement for Ironman. There was even a scene when he wore Tony's eyeglasses and he creepily showed a resemblance to our favorite "dead" superhero. Fortunately, it turned out that he's a supervillain disguised as a next potential superhero.

Spiderman Far From Home Mysterio

Bad news for hopeful MCU fans - no resurrections (yet) this time. The post credit scenes were all related to Parker alone.

Yes, it was still a good movie. But if you're just planning to watch Spiderman Far From Home to seek answers from Endgame, you'll be disappointed.

Oliver Queen May Not Really Die on CW Arrow's Final Season (Plus What the Future May Bring to Arrowverse)

Oliver Queen May Not Really Die on CW Arrow's Final Season

The series finale of Arrow Season 7 had confirmed that Oliver Queen will die during the upcoming crisis in the multiverse... an event that will occur on Arrowverse’s biggest crossover yet “Crisis on Infinite Earths” which will air this Fall 2019.

On last year's crossover, Elseworlds, Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) made an off-screen deal with the Monitor to save Barry Allen (The Flash) and Kara Danvers’ (Supergirl) lives.

During the last few minutes of Arrow Season 7 "You Have Saved This City", the Monitor suddenly appeared at Oliver’s house to collect on the bargain they’d made last year. As it turned out, Oliver promised to assist him in saving the universe and stopping the crisis. Whatever the outcome, the Monitor confirmed that Oliver Queen will definitely die in the end, sparing countless others including Felicity and his daughter Mia.

Even the flash-forward scenes from the previous season of the Arrow had shown that Mia grew up without knowing her father. Oliver's tombstone at the last episode concluded it. Green Arrow would die.

There Could Be a Twist

Let's not forget the other superheroes who will play a big part in the upcoming crossover.

Team Flash

Who's the expert when it comes to multiverses? Of course, Team Flash! While there are some reports that Cisco Ramone, who recently took the metahuman cure during the series finale of The Flash, will not be coming back next season, I’m pretty sure Caitlin and the gang will figure something out.
How about Barry? In the original timeline, the crisis was supposed to take place in April 2024, where he would reportedly disappear. However, due to their alteration of the timeline by destroying Cicada’s dagger last season, the battle was set to occur earlier, in 2019, along with his disappearance.

Legends of Tomorrow

Since I have no idea what's really going to happen in the crisis, I can only guess the only thing that can help everyone - time travel. And yes, I'm talking about the Legends. Like their last huge crossover in 2017, Crisis on Earth-X, they may play a huge role again during the last part of the episode. Restoring the timeline is their job, anyway. Maybe in that original timeline, Oliver Queen gets to live and Barry would still have 5-6 years again before disappearing in 2024. And voila... Nora and Zari could come back, depending on how they would put the puzzle pieces back together.

Lena and Brainy

Not to mention the other big brains from Supergirl who may come up with other genius fallback plans - Lena Luthor and Brainy. How about giving Oliver some of that superhuman serum Lena had invented to increase his chances of surviving?

The Flash-Forward Scenes in Arrow Season 7 Belong to an Alternate Timeline

Borrowing this “alternate timeline concept” thing from The Avengers: Endgame, this could make sense, especially if Arrow’s showrunners are deliberately leading us to a wrong path. That could be the future if the original trinity together with the Legends and Batgirl would lose the upcoming battle. What if they win? Then the future shown last season belonged to an alternate timeline. What if they lose? Then Oliver Queen will surely die and Team Arrow's kids will probably have their own spin-off in the near future.

But. BUT. Somewhere in the UK over the past few days, this happened:

Oliver Felicity and Mia Queen

As of today, this photo was already deleted by Stephen Amell from his Instagram account. What could be the reason? Did the showrunners ask him to remove it to avoid potential spoilers? Oh, good thing I was able to screenshot it the other day.

Since Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is no longer returning next season, maybe they already filmed a mini-scene where they all got reunited to be shown on the last part of the upcoming crossover. But then again, this is just a hunch. This could be taken from Emily’s farewell party if there was one. But I’m definitely sure that this wasn’t from their wrap party because these were their iconic look during that evening:

Oliver Felicity and Mia Queen

Besides, overly-announcing that “Oliver will die next season” multiple times this early isn’t normal. If you're a fan of the Arrowverse, you'd know that there's something fishy behind this total giveaway. Did Marvel announce pre-Endgame that Tony Stark will die? Of course, not. See my point?

We still have 3 or 4 months to find out Oliver Queen's destiny. For now, all we can do is theorize.

The Avengers Endgame Deaths May Not Be Permanent (Spoiler Alert!)

Avengers Endgame Deaths

It's been three days since I watched The Avengers: Endgame and I still haven't moved on yet. I'm still mourning the deaths of my most favorite Avengers. However, if the movie ended in a different way, it won't be as epic as it is now. Kudos to the big brains who came up with the whole storyline. As if they were already building this up since the beginning which was Iron Man 1 (2008).

Kidsafe Philippines GPS Watch for Kids Review

Kidsafe Philippines GPS Watch for Kids Review

Unfortunately, we can’t really monitor our kids 24/7. At school, we can’t hang out along the corridors and watch over our kids take their classes. In public places, even when your grip is as tight as the Hulk's, kids could still find a way to escape from your hands and sight.

How We Dealt With Our Little Troublemaker

How We Dealt With Our Little Troublemaker

Yesterday was my son's last day in Kindergarten. As soon as the ceremony was over, his teacher sent me a text message to thank us. Then she opened up and mentioned that my son, who was a little bully since Day 1, made a huge improvement with his overall attitude and with his socialization with his classmates and teachers.

My Second Baby is Not a Picky Eater: Here’s What I Did

ampalaya bitter gourd for baby

Since my eldest son is an extremely picky eater, I tried to do thorough research on what to do with my youngest daughter before she had her first solid foods. I know I wouldn’t be able to find real answers from the internet, so I asked a lot of grandparents and doctors on what to do.
