Taal Vista Hotel Tagaytay City Review: My Personal Thoughts
It was my eldest son's 4th birthday last December 14. Instead of throwing him a party, we just decided to take the opportunity to have a family vacation out-of-town. I picked Tagaytay for a change, booked a Deluxe Room in Taal Vista Hotel for December 13 to 15 through Agoda, planned the whole trip, and excitingly waited for another 2-3 weeks.
December 13 - it was already 8pm when we arrived at the hotel to check-in. We were stunned by the elegance of the main lobby and other areas surrounding their Christmas tree.

And the disappointment came. After walking all the way to the Mountain Wing, we just realised that there are no elevators. Just stairs.

We stayed optimistic even though we got lost. The hotel staff carrying our bags wasn't with us because, apparently, they have a "different route".

The room? Oh, the room. It was "okay". Dust on the corners of the room, 2 flies giving us a warm welcome... what a start! I prefer carpeted rooms especially that my son tends to pull a lot of acrobatic stunts from time to time, so a dusty tiled floor is a minus for me.

Honestly, I've been to different hotels with better, cleaner and nicer rooms. They're even more affordable than this one. So I guess what we paid for were the hotel's history and its facade.
Back to the positive stuff - their free breakfast buffet was excellent! From different types of breads, salads, rice dishes, soups, to fruits... it's definitely for everyone! I wasn't able to take pictures of the buffet, but I was able to capture the areas surrounding the Veranda (the breakfast area).
The hotel also has its own breathtaking view deck, a swimming pool, a play area for the kids, a clinic, function areas, etc.
Verdict:
I love the hotel, not the room/s. For Php 10,000 a night, maybe the hotel staff needs to re-check every room and their definition of cleanliness.
Taal Vista Hotel looks nice on your photos! Maybe we can consider booking that hotel for our next Tagaytay trip. Thank you for the tips!

DeleteHey Anj.. we spent 2 nights as well in Taal Vista Hotel last week. We have the same experience with the room's cleanliness. But their free breakfast was good! :) :) :) - Tita Joy
